Rural changes after World War II in the former Horšovský Týn district
Švarc, Ondřej ; Koura, Petr (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee)
The target of this diploma thesis is the transformation of the countryside after the Second World War in the territory of the former district of Horšovský Týn, whose existence is defined in the years 1945-1960. The work, based on the study of primary sources from the State District Archive of Domažlice, located in Horšovský Týn (primarily from the ONV Horšovský Týn resource), the study of periodicals and secondary literature creates a picture of the post-war border district, which had to go through a series of revolutionary changes during its existence. The work follows the demographic development of the Horšovský Týn district, including the displacement of the German-speaking population and the subsequent settlement of the region by a new Czech population. Using the example of the memoirs of Walter Bernklau, who as a German was deported from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War, the work shows what fates the German-speaking population had to go through during the deportation and what awaited them in their new home. The second half of the work is mainly devoted to the development of agriculture in the region, the history of auxiliary cooperatives in the district of Horšovský Týn in the years 1945-1948 and the collectivization of the region after 1949. In the last chapter, the work on selected...

Pech, Daniel ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor) ; Hnilica, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the history of the Jizera river until 1880. The Jizera is a medium-sized Czech river. Its springs at the foot of the Jizera Mountains and in Lázně Toušeň flows into the Elbe, to whose basin it belongs. The thesis is devoted only to the section of the Jizera flowing through the district of Mladá Boleslav and deals with the relationship between the river and man in the course of history. In the first part, it examines the influence of the Jizera on the emergence of human settlement and infrastructure in Mladá Boleslav region, or on their subsequent development. It therefore focuses on how the physical-geographic conditions created by the river led to the construction of human settlements, trails, long-distance roads or some technical structures, while one of the chapters also deals with the question of how the Jizera River affected the leisure time of people living near it banks. The second part of the bachelor thesis deals with how human activity influenced or changed the flow of the river. It focuses on certain water works such as weirs, mill drives, dams and weir culverts. Theses tries to find an answer to the question of why these water structures were built and what impact they had on not only the form and flow of the Jizera, but also on the activities carried...
Proměny jihočeského pohraničí a jeho obyvatelstva po druhé světové válce v dobových pramenech a paměti obyvatel Kaplicka
MUSILOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis focuses on the post-war development of the border region marked by a violent change in its demographic structure - the displacement of the German-speaking population and the subsequent settlement of Czechs and Slovaks from the inland or abroad. The subject of the research is the transformation of the South Bohemian border region, specifically the region centred around the town of Kaplice (precisely the former district of Kaplice), which took place after the Second World War. Based on secondary literature, but especially contemporary sources and the living memory of the local inhabitants, this thesis deals with and further analyses the course of settlement and the transformation of the local society and the coexistence of different groups. It aims to analyse which national groups settled in this region and how they perceived the transformation of the borderland themselves. Based on nine stories, the thesis compares the experiences of Czech and German old settlers with the ones of newcomers. The final part of this thesis outlines possibilities of using these stories in the teaching of modern history in subjects such as Civics and Social science.

Agricultural settlement - Mountain pastoral cooperatives in the district of Trutnov from 1945 to 1949
Nováková, Tamara ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor) ; Holubec, Stanislav (referee) ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee)
The history of mountain pastoral cooperatives 1945-1949 has not yet been sufficiently elaborated and reflected in the whole range of issues, not even at the national level, let alone at the level of each border political district or otherwise defined region. The presented text will focus on the genesis of mountain pasture cooperatives at the national level, in the political post-war context, including the fundamental theoretical background, and will describe in particular the implementation of six cooperatives in the Giant Mts (Krkonoše in Czech) and Giant Mts foothills, in particular the Trutnov political district. In the form of a probe, the implemented HPDs in the Prachatice district will be described for comparison. Comparison of the theoretical plans of the Ministry of Agriculture with concrete implementation in the complicated reality of the various ways of re-locating post-war sites in the Trutnov district brings a new perspective firstly on the evaluation of the success of the mountain pastoral cooperatives or on the limits and possibilities of their success. Secondly, it presents pastoral cooperatives as a key player in the transformation of the cultural landscape of some localities affected by them. At the same time, the study describes the exklusive possibility for grassland promoters to...
Cathegorization of small ponds in the PLA Broumovsko
Mňuková, Veronika ; Tátosová, Jolana (advisor) ; Černý, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis is about small artificial ponds and their value in landscape. It characterizes their basic features, colonization rate, role the play in maintaining biodiversity and their significance for nature conservation. In the practical part of my thesis, I am focusing on small ponds in CHKO Broumovsko and analyzing them in context with their possible colonization. The main aspects that I take into consideration, are their spatial distribution, age, biotopes in which they are situated, their relation to streams and terrain in their surroundings. The result of my work is cathegorization of the ponds, which reflects these characteristics and defines groups of potentially similar and different ponds. Hypothesis that emerged from this cathegorization will be further used in biodiversity research within my subsequent master thesis. Key words: small ponds, biodiversity, colonization, mapping, cathegorization
The displacement of the German population from the Šternberk area and its impact on the regional economy
Zajíc, Marek ; Šafařík, Petr (advisor) ; Nigrin, Tomáš (referee)
Abstract/Annotation The theme of this bachelor thesis is the influence of the displacement of German population from Šternberk on the local economy after 1945. The thesis deals with the state of Šternberk's economy before displacement and its development after the above mentioned year. The thesis contains statistical data on the original composition of the population and the number of trades and crafts. Furthermore, the largest employers in the city and the region are introduced. It is also stated in the individual chapters that the transformation of economy was not an exclusive issue in 1945, but was gradually taking place in different sectors. The sources I have worked with when writing the text prove that the character of the Šternberk region has been completely different from the present day for several decades. Through archival materials currently stored in Olomouc, it is possible to create a comprehensive picture of how the displacement of Šternberk Germans took place at the end of World War II. It is also evident from some of the selected sources that Šternberk and the North Moravian region were subsequently settled also by repatriates. The aim of this work is to acquaint the public with the preserved sources that provide insight into what was then happening in the North Moravian region.
